TottenhamNews.org was originally a simple news aggregation site, pulling in all the news from a whole host of sources, from the BBC to ESPN to fan blogs and of course, the official site.

However, what we found was that a lot of these sources kept on piling in advertisements or had posts that were clearly written by non Spurs fans as well as not providing what real Spurs fans wanted.

So, from 14th October 2011 it was decided that rather than rely on others to provide the news, we would do it ourselves, will the site be biased? Probably, but there is no shame in that, it is after all a Tottenham site for Tottenham fans.

Initially the site will have the usual news including official news, transfer gossip, opinion, match previews, players ratings, match analysis and so on.

There will also be competitions, possibly a forum and a lot more, but as they say, all good things come to those that wait.

At the start there are three of us, all Tottenham fanatics and while the writing may not be up to Journalistic standard, it will be ours and it will be honest.

The original three contributors are

Martin

Martin can recall going to watch Tottenham play Aston Villa at White Hart Lane when Ossie Ardilles and Ricky Villa made their home debuts, it was an experience that Martin will never forget.

Spurs lost the game 4-1 but it was the entrance of the players that will always stick within Martins memory, the entire ground welcomed the Argentinian duo with the traditional South American practice of throwing, with what looked like Millions of pieces of torn up paper, in to the sky, it was a site to behold.

Other memories include attending the 9-0 win over Bristol Rovers (yes, when we were in the old second division) and of course going to Wembley and watching Glenn Hoddle score the winning goal, via a penalty, against QPR in the FA Cup final.

Frank

Frank has the same sort of memories as Martin, though Frank now lives in Spain and cannot attend games as often as he would like.

Frank will never forget the 1984 UEFA cup win over Anderlecht and the celebrations of Tony Parks, Frank also recalls watching the reserves play and listening to the tannoy as it announced the 7-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, the price we all pay for being loyal Tottenham fans, the good memories come with the bad ones as well.

Frank is dedicated to Tottenham, he is very opinionated and will not be scared to criticise or applaud any player, the club or management, even if it goes against the majorities thinking.

James

James is the youngest writer and has had more experience of watching Spurs via television than any other method, it also does not help that he works weekends, poor sod.

James will generally monitor all the gossip, he simply loves that crap, he knows it is mainly bullshit, but loves it when the unlikely happens, he kept telling anyone that would listen that Adebayor would come to White Hart Lane, even when it seemed madness when originally reported.

James, like Frank, is opinionated and comes to the table with a younger outlook that the old boys, who on occasions can be too nostalgic, James is more open to change, as an example, welcomes a move away from Tottenham, something Frank and Martin are vehemently opposed to.

So as you can see, three different types of writers, all passionate about Tottenham and who will do there very best to turn TottenhamNews.org in to one of the best Spurs sites on the web.
